Fixitnow.com: Kicking Appliance Butt All Over The Globe

June 17, 2001

Yep, life has been good. Blessed, really. I'm answering questions in the repair forum and people are buying the appliance parts they need. When I'm not snowshoeing, hiking, or orienteering, I'm running this website site and raising a family. Life has been busy, but most excellent. Hope you can say the same.

After putting up with endless technical problems, I finally moved the Do-It-Yourself repair forum from my old host, Coolboard, to my new host, EZBoard. The last straw was when Coolboard started running popup ads in addition to the two banner ads they were already running on my forum. The difference between the two hosts is dramatic. The EZBoard forum is much more reliable, so I no longer need to have a backup forum. It loads alot faster, too, so no more waiting forever for a page to load.

Feel free to browse through the existing threads in the old forum for information that may be relevant to your appliance problem. But to post a question, please click here now to go to the new forum and post your appliance questions there.

Added a Mind-It button to key pages. Now, if you want to, you can get an automatic email notification when that page is updated. Just right click and copy the URL in your browser's address bar and then click on the Mind-It button on any page:

Click it to git it, Hoss.

In the Mind-It form you'll see, just paste in the URL you copied and you're good to go.

I'm very pleased to announce our new affiliate relationship with RepairClinic.com. Now, we are truely a one-stop website for your appliance repair needs: get free appliance repair help to figger out what's wrong with the dern thang and then turn right around and order the part! Now that's what I call a mennackem bigg'n good deal! Just look for the
Got Parts?
link on the page and go git 'em!

Another new goodie: now all the on-line repair guides are Palm Doc-able. Ya hey, just click the blue Coola button below each table and the page will be converted to a Palm Doc file that will be loaded into your Palm at your next Hotsync. Oh yeah, baby, here at Fixitnow.com, we're on the bleeding edge of technology!

Going broke spending your money on appliance repairs? After years of searching, I have finally discovered the ancient and proven wealth-building secret used by the richest of the rich. I mean, I'm talking about people who are so rich that they torch a Ben Franklin to light their hand-rolled Cuban. I'm talking about people who trade cattle like you and me in poker games. Ahhh, to heck with it, check it out for yourself. It's unbeleebubable!

I know, I know, it's been five months since my last post to this page. Ahh, but where to begin? Ok, y'all gather 'round and pour yerselves a tall, cold, bubbly one 'cause we're in for one helluva romp!...not really, but I've always wanted to say that, so there y'are.

October was highlighted by the Monadnock-Sunapee Greenway backpacking trip with Fishnutz, Perc, Bulldog, and, yours truely, Captain Zenzoid. Then I spent the rest of the year working on a boring paper-stuff-that-had-to-get-done project.

After three dud winters of very little snow, the new year brought in a great crop of cheeksnow. "What's cheeksnow?" you ask, timidly. Cheeksnow is where you get so much snow that it's up to your...you get the idea. Don't believe me? Check out these photos of Winter Storm 2001. Go ahead, I'll wait...see? When have I ever lied to you?

One of the cool things about having so much snow is that you'd much rather be SNOWSHOEING! instead of playing tipity-tapety on the keyboard.

So, on the count of neglecting my awesome powers as web master of this ancient and venerable website, I plead guilty as charged and damn glad about it, too, mister! But now I'm back at the helm, firmly and competently in complete control of this raging jaggernaut called Fixitnow.com; boldly guiding her like the master helmsman I am into unchartered waters of appliance repair kickbuttitude.
