Your Name: Michelle

Type of Appliance: Washer

Brand: Whirlpool

Your Precious Words:
Duet washer very noisy during spin cycle noticed it has rubbed rubber boot. I have only had a month, does it matter I bought at close out place? Would that avoid manfacture warranty?the basket moves very freely up and down and round and round.

Hi Michelle,

Unfortunately, this sounds suspiciously like the drum supports spider has broken. An easy way to tell whether or not this is happened is to open the door and reach in and grab the lip of the steel in her basket. Try to move the basket up-and-down back-and-forth. If it moves at all independently of the outer drum then you have a broken drum supports spider. If this is the case, the washer is a total.
