Please send me any info you have that can help me with my problem, thanks.. Ahh, Grasshopper, the Samurai is pleased to help you out of your dilemma. Come, sing along with me... To unlock the Control Locked feature: Press and hold the End Of Cycle Signal button for 3 seconds to turn this feature off. NOTE: When the dryer is running and Control Locked light is on, the dryer can be stopped by pressing the Pause/Cancel button, but cannot be restarted until the control is unlocked.

19 Comments:MY WHIRLPOOL DUET DRYER IS DISPLAYING AN "E1" ERROR CODE MESSAGE, WHAT DOES THIS MEAN OR HOW DO U FIX IT. IT IS NOT DRYING COMPLETELY. By kingdemps, at December 04, 2004 9:24 PM The place the ask questions is in the repair forum at the Appliantology Group. By Samurai Appliance Repair Man, at January 05, 2005 9:54 AM Our Whirlpool duet dryer has foreign objects in the drum blocks (tranlucent blocks for separating articles whole drying), how do you remove them to clean them. By Terry, at May 15, 2005 8:43 PM O wise Samurai Appliance Repair Man, I bow at your feet in thanks for your words of wisdom! Our lovely Duet dryer, which has otherwise given no problem, had this "control locked" problem. Your words in this forum fixed it instantly. Thank you! , atI had this same problem with my washer and and it worked like with the dryer. Thank you so much , atYou are most wise. I could not find my owner's manual so I did a quick search on "whirpool control lock" and you came out on top! How do it know? You have been added to my favorites and forwarded to all my incompetent friends. I will now have a beer in your honor. By Mjolhner, at September 11, 2005 11:35 AM We had the same issue with our Kenmore HE3t washer. Being the internet savvy old man that I am, I found this solution for the equivalent dryer, but the 3 second solution for the dryer did not work. My son, observant young man that he is, found the text printed on the front panel under the Drain/Spin button: "Press and hold for 3 seconds to unlock control". HA! , atOur Whirlpool Duet Dryer won't start. When you select a cycle and press the start button, it beeps twice and the timer indicator blinks. That's supposed to mean that the door is not securely shut, but that doesn't seem to be the case here. What else could be wrong? By alcouvi, at March 18, 2006 5:56 PM YOU ARE AMAZING!!! THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!! , at
Thanks for your "Control Lock" solution. Wow...thanks a lot...this saved me a service call for sure...my wife was ready to shoot someone...I couldn't find any fo this in the manual...but once I saw the button it was all there...thanks again...George , at
We are having the same problem as the March 18th question posted by alcouvi that stated "Our Whirlpool Duet Dryer won't start. By Jon and Erika, at August 19, 2006 5:33 PM Thanks for the control lock UNlock tip!:) By Rationale, at September 30, 2007 6:37 PM Our Whirlpool duet dryer won't start. When you select a cycle and press the start button, it beeps and a line appears for the timer indicator. The door is shut. What else could be the problem? By Shelly, at December 27, 2007 11:55 PM My son's Duet dryer stops every few minutes and displays an F-02 message. What does that mean and how does he resolve the problem? By Carla, at February 20, 2008 6:42 PM
Same problem as two other posters above - alcouvi and 'jon and erika': By Murari Srinivasan, at March 14, 2008 12:25 AM Thanks for the "Control Lock" tip. This worked as well for me.
