Kenmore Washer Won't Spin; washer repair

george gerrts wrote:

hi, have a kenmore washer model 110.20872990......unit agitates but won,t spin........does it need a new pump and if so, which does it have?

Message sent from IP:

lid switch for your washer. click it to git it, hoss.A no-spin condition on this washer, the top-loading direct drive washer built by Whirlpool (with a Kenmore name stuck on it, in your case) is almost always a sure sign of a bad lid switch. As far as repairs go, they don't get much easier than this one-- it rates a mere single mug on the SUDs-o-meter. Got illustrated instructions fer ya ratcheer.

You're right, it wasn't listed-- I gotta fix that! But I do have a page on ezzzacly what's wrong with your washer-- it's the agitator dogs.

My Whirlpool 7.5kg Top Loader (model 6ALSC8255JQ) wont spin or drain. The agitator works fine. I have also checked the agitator clip which is not broken either, nor is the drain pipe blocked.

When i push a peg into the clip switch to see if it will spin, i dont hear any motor at all, which leads me to think the problem may be electrical, rather than a broken pulley.

How can i diagnose then fix this? (its just gone 3 weeks out of warranty i think.

Mine agitates and drains, but won't spin. With the lid open, it shows OL (Open Lid). When I put a stick in the lid switch, it makes a lot of spinning noise, but doesn't spin, so I don't think it's the switch in my case. What else could it be?

The Motor drive connect cog, plastic callor. The brake froze on, clutch worn out, basket bearing, friction between shafts(rust-corrosion)

I have a Kenmore washer, model # 110.2691269 that will not spin. It makes a funny grinding whirling noise (not lout) but it stops when the lid opens. Water pumps out okay too.
