Whirlpool Duet Washer Giving Some Not-So-Good Vibrations

rgterzian wrote

Have a Whirlpool Duet HT Washer Model GHW9200LW0. Dryer stacked using Whirlpool kit Banging or knocking at low speed spin only, noise stops as spin speed increases. Minimal vibration in all cycles, unit near perfectly level. Performs well- clothes clean, undamaged, relatively dry after spin. Can you help me, wise one?

This was a recent topic of discussion in the Appliantology Group. The problem really boils down to inadequate floor support and harmonic mechanical vibrations set up between the washer during the spin cycle and the floor. Read all about it ratcheer.

See this page for instructions on getting out of control lock.

How about control lock on duet washer? Mine is stuck on control lock and I cant get it off.

Try pulling the plug on the washer for about 15 minutes and plugging it back in. If that doesn't clear the control lock, then you need to replace the main control board.

For answers to all your Whirlpool Duet ? Kenmore HE3 washer questions, buy the genuine service manual for this washer.

Hello,

I just bought a house and it came with a Whirlpool Duet washer which worked the first three times I used it. Now after a cycle finishes, it fills back up with water. I have tried the drain and spin cycle which worked once, but now I can't get it to do anything. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Kevin

I would put the machine into diagnostic mode to nail down what's happening. The tech sheet for your washer explains how to do this. It's cleverly hidden in your washer.

I have a whirlpool Duet. Set it to run at night and in the morning the floor was all wet. Code on the machine was "FH". When i tried to start it to see where the water was coming out, I saw that it was streaming from the bottom of the unit.

I have a Whirlpool Duet front-loading washer, about 3 years old. It was making some clunky sounds while spinning recently, and now it doesn't turn or spin at all. Any advice?

If the "Control lock" button is on, on your Whirlppol duet HT washer (or similiar, I would guess it would be the same across their line of front loading washers)
then just hold down the 'End of Cycle' button (the button that controls the speaker volume when a cycle is complete) for 6 seconds. It should shut off the lock.

For anyone who has yet to purchase a washer and dryer DO NOT buy the whirlpool duet ht set. It works great for the first three weeks, if bought brand new, but after that, it's all about the repairs! I'd like to meet the makers of whirlpool and give 'em a nice kick up their whirlpool if you know what I mean...
